As a Blount Scholars Intern, I was tasked with a variety of responsibilities. I developed volunteer opportunities for volunteers to help prepare materials for events and outreach. I created brochures, flyers, and other printed materials to be distributed at the DHR and food stamp offices to spread knowledge about domestic violence, sexual assault, and Turning Point, as well as social media content for Turning Point Instagram account. Additionally, I updated the Turning Point directory to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of crisis call procedure.
In collaboration with University of Alabama Printmaking Club, I facilitated a fundraiser at "Druid City Arts Festival". The University of Alabama Printmaking Club agreed to donate a portion of proceeds from their April sale at Druid City Arts Festival (DCAF) to Turning Point DV/SS resulting in a net donation of $250.
I executed three monthly internal shelter events known as "Girls Night In". Hosted for current shelter residents, I created activity-based events for clients. Additionally, I coordinated volunteers, childcare and donated catering from local vendors.
